Once deciding to get a hair wig for yourself, which one you will choose is another part of the story. There are closure and frontal hair wigs, to know what kind is better, follow this article.
Closure and frontal hair wigs
- For the beautiful and mesmerizing sew-in installations, Lace frontals, and lace closures, both choices are very useful.
- Both of the kinds serve the same purpose.
- With the use of frontals and closures, you can eliminate the blending requirement.
- These wigs are manufactured with either Swiss lace or French lace.
Lace frontal and lace closure are the most preferable choices for women. So, let’s know the difference between both of them.
About Lace Frontal
A kind of half wig, Lace Frontal goes from ear to ear and is sewn with approximately 3-4 bundles of hair. The size of frontal hair wigs is 13” across and 4” back.
While the frontal wigs can be carried in diverse styles, the closure wigs cannot let you do different hairstyles like holding back.
Mostly, when you want to recreate the whole hairline from ear to ear and about 2 inches back, lace frontal is used. The women who have traction alopecia or thinning edges prefers lace frontals. These kinds of hair wigs can be dyed, curled, straightened, and restyled as per your choice.
About Lace Closure
A lace closure is, of course, different from the frontal wigs because it does not cover your head from temple to temple. As the name implies, closure wigs are installed in the “horseshoe” area of the head. These kinds of wigs are typically 4” X 4” but can come in slightly smaller or larger sizes. And you know, closure wigs come in two kinds:
- silk base closures and
- lace closures
Note: By keeping natural density, you can make a great closure.
What’s The Difference Between Closure and frontal?
The chief difference between lace frontals and lace closures is their size. While lace frontal wigs are bigger in size as they run temple to temple to cover the entire hairline, closure is smaller in size than frontals. Usually, the frontal wigs come in the size of 13*4 inches, and closure in 4 x 4 inches.
The primary purpose of lace closures is to close off an install, that’s why they are smaller than frontals.
Both kinds are typically made with either lace or silk. However, some frontals are produced with both silks in the middle 4×4 section and lace on either side.
On the other hand, silk base closures tend to mimic a scalp more accurately. This happens when they viewed up close. Moreover, lace based closures and frontals are preferred. The reason behind this is that the material lays much flatter against and blends better with the scalp. The lace based wigs give not just a natural, but accurate replica of their own scalp.
Lace frontal provides unmatched styling versatility. While wearing lace frontal, you are allowed to do any style that closure wigs do not give. Closure only covers a small portion of the front of the install that makes it impossible to pull back the sides without exposing tracks. On the other hand, frontal let you cover the complete hairline and will allow you to achieve a seamless style that you can pull back off of your face.
Closures and frontals, both can be sewn in or constructed into a wig.
These can then be sewn down around the edges. Else, they can be worn as a removable wig with a band and laid down with some hair gel.
While frontals provide the most styling versatility, closures remain the most appropriate option for simple everyday looks.
